Ukraine’s new national cybersecurity strategy prioritizes the development of specialist training and the reform of teaching and its organization. University curricula need to be updated to meet the rapidly changing demands of cybersecurity. At the same time, there is a high demand for cyber specialists, but the existing training does not meet the needs of the labor market or state continuity. In addition, it is important to improve the competence of teaching staff to ensure the teaching of the latest cybersecurity methods and technologies.

Project objectives

The project aims to develop cybersecurity education in Ukraine and train SOC analysts.

Actions and results

As a pilot initiative, a 4-6 ECTS cybersecurity course will be created for broader implementation. The course is combined with a cybersecurity competition to increase interest in the field. A total of 90 students from three universities will participate, with their skills assessed through CTF competitions. The best performers will advance to the finals. Six instructors will complete SOC analyst certification. The project consists of three phases: development, implementation, and reflection. Partners include the Ukrainian Ministry of Youth and Sports, Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University, Security Expert Group, and Datami LLC. The outcome is a practical, workforce-oriented course that meets industry needs and strengthens Ukraine’s cybersecurity capabilities.
