Promoting civic participation and good governance in Shirak region through empowering women and improving educators’ awareness on gender equality
Project objectives
The project aims to promote active citizenship, good governance and modern education through the empowerment of teachers and women and girls in the Shirak region.
Actions and results
1. Action planning: the project team will prepare a comprehensive action plan designed to meet the needs mapped. This plan will include the organisation of an active citizenship camp, in-service training for teachers and the development of materials on gender equality, human rights and bullying prevention.
2. Running an Active Citizenship Camp: the Active Citizenship Camp offers intensive training on active citizenship, leadership and advocacy, providing women with the skills needed to get involved in decision-making processes. The proposed project will provide 25 women with the opportunity to participate in an active citizenship camp.
3. Developing information materials: information materials covering topics such as human rights principles, gender equality and violence prevention, providing teachers with valuable tools to integrate into their teaching practice. The materials will be developed by local experts on the topics.
4. Teacher training: teacher training provides teachers with the knowledge and skills to promote human rights principles and gender equality and to support the prevention of gender-based violence and bullying in the classroom. Under the proposed project, 240 teachers in the Shirak region will benefit from this training, which will improve the quality of education and the learning experience of at least 4,800 students (indirect beneficiaries).
5. Communication and involvement: throughout the project we will organise targeted communication activities to engage stakeholders, raise awareness of project activities and promote women's involvement and participation in decision-making processes. To increase the visibility and reach of the project, we will organise social media campaigns and information events, and develop partnerships with educational institutions.se on participation, leadership and advocacy, providing women with the skills needed to engage in decision-making processes. The proposed project will give 25 women the opportunity to participate in an active citizenship camp.
6. Monitoring and evaluation of results, reporting to the donor: Completing the financial report and compiling supporting documents on a rolling basis throughout the project period. The financial report will be prepared by the project manager and the accountant, whose work will be supervised by the Mondo Board. Monitoring and evaluation of the results of each specific activity will be carried out during the implementation of the activity (participant lists, pre- and post-questionnaires, other questionnaires, focus groups, monitoring visits, etc.). The report on the content of the project activities will be prepared by the Mondo project manager in cooperation with the local partner and taking into account the information obtained during the evaluation of the project results and the monitoring visit.
