Time: 23.07.2020 – 22.01.2022
Description: The overall objective of the project is to foster resilience and build capacity to counter disinformation campaigns in Southern and Eastern Ukraine. Lack of awareness about the types and methods of disinformation, as well as about the importance of reforms related to European integration, has left the local media and the local population vulnerable to manipulation. Addressing these vulnerabilities entails engaging the local population, authorities, journalists and students by strengthening their resilience to disinformation attacks. In cooperation with Ukraine Crisis Media Center and Detector Media, the project aims to support high-quality journalism by implementing activities to increase media literacy and critical thinking.
Target Group: Local journalists and editors, representatives of local authorities, university and high school students from eight regions in Southern and Eastern Ukraine: Odessa, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Zaporizhia, Donetsk, Luhansk, Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv.
Funding: European Union
Budget: EUR 1,93 M
