The project will increase girls' participation in the LTT field, improve science education in schools and strengthen the awareness of education policy makers about the need to develop LTT education.

The project is implemented in collaboration with NGO Mondo, Proud Engineers OÜ/HK Unicorn Squad and NGO CIVS.

Project objectives

The aim of this project is to adapt the HK Unicorn Squad LTT subject model for rural Kenyan schoolchildren and pilot 4 modules in the girls' science clubs established in three schools in Kisumu County in Kenya.

Actions and results

As part of the project, we will train 9 special schools and provide 310 girls with LTT subject learning through appropriate teaching methods within the science clubs and adapt the first parts of the HK Unicorn Squad teaching materials to the Kenyan context, which will continue to be used by the science clubs. As part of the project, a 5-day training will be held for teachers and officials to introduce the developed methods.

In addition, science clubs will be established in three schools and a science camp will be organised for the top 30 girls from the 3 respective schools. They will be able to test their knowledge and take part in the important event of the HK Unicorn Squad model.
