Under the initiative of ESTDEV, the renovation of the building of the Malyn Hobby School (formerly the Music School) has been launched, and with it it is appropriate to review and modernise the content and organisation of teaching at the Hobby School and the city's wider system of recreational education.

Project objectives

Design and implementation of a modern, high quality and sustainable system of recreational education in the city of Malyn. The new concept of the Malyn Recreation School is based on the principle of learning and teaching that supports the development of the learner, and on a school culture of cooperation and development. The new model of recreational education, including recreational schools, has the potential to become a best practice example for other local authorities in the region.

Actions and results

Outcome 1: The local government's (Malyn city) system of recreational education is modernised, providing high quality, diverse and flexible learning opportunities that take into account the needs of local children and young people. Effective organisation ensures close cooperation with different schools, cultural and sports organisations and the community to create a sustainable and inclusive education system.

Outcome 2: Learning and teaching that support learner development and a collaborative and development-oriented school culture.
