Millions of Ukrainians have lost their homes due to Russian aggression, and an estimated 3.7 million internally displaced persons live in Ukraine. In the early months of the war, Zhytomyr Oblast received approximately 126,000 internally displaced persons. Of these, approximately 56,000 have remained in the region, of whom 1,200 now live in Brussyliv. The housing crisis is one of the most important problems in the region.

Project objectives

The project aims to create permanent, high-quality and energy-efficient homes for Ukrainian internally displaced persons.

Actions and results

As part of the project, a modern residential building with 18 apartments made of wooden modules will be built in Brusyliv, which:

  • Meets EU energy efficiency standards
  • Follows passive house principles
  • Has a modern bomb shelter in the basement
